Thank you for this coverage, Alejandra. I checked the website you sent and my state (MD) doesn’t have an immigration bond fund but does have a pretrial bond fund. Do you know if funds sent to pretrial bond funds also tend to help migrants?
Not usually, unfortunately--I would recommend donating to a national bail fund in that case. There's also no more immigration detention in Maryland, which is fantastic, but there's an ongoing, really powerful site fight for the immigration detention center in Farmville, VA. Not super close to MD, but semi-local. You can also donate to a PA bond fund, as people arrested in MD will get taken to detention centers there or in VA most likely.
