Thank you, Jessica. You said it better than I could have dreamed of saying. I've shared this post on Facebook.

Thank you, Janet. I'm just at a loss, so it helps to know I'm not alone in these feelings!

Thank you for these words. Do you know what actual visa the Afrikaners were given? It doesn't seem like they could have access to the I-94 / 'refugee' visa -- is it some sort of parole and they're being called refugees? Or do you think it's official refugee status?

I wondered that too. All of the sources I'm seeing say "refugee status," and I think that's why EMM went to the drastic step of pulling their resettlement contract, but I know a lot of resettlement folks read this newsletter and know better than me. Anyone else have any insight? Great question, Laura!

Well said, and I am grieving with you. I noticed you mentioned a prison in Honduras, but I wonder if you mean CECOT in El Salvador.

SIIIIIIIGH, yes, of course, thank you! CECOT in El Salvador. I got so keyed up, I didn't say that part correctly. I'll fix it in the version above, but nothing I can do about what's in your inboxes! Thank you for catching that!

No problem, I was pretty sure that’s what you meant, and completely understand being keyed up. Thanks for all of the great work you put out!
